Ypres in Belgium. The scene of horrible futile battles fought in the mud of Flanders Between 1914 and 1918. My Great Uncle Lindsay sustained 'gunshot wounds to the thighs' in 1917 at Ypres. Battle debris is still to be found 90 years on.
